1. Overview
Health Data Export is a local-first Apple Health export tool designed to help you filter health metrics by date range and export them as CSV, JSON, Markdown, Excel, or PDF.
We do not require an account, and we do not upload your health data to our servers. Other than Apple-provided HealthKit and App Store purchase infrastructure, the app does not rely on third-party data processors by default.
2. What data the app processes
When you explicitly start an export, Health Data Export may read Apple Health metrics that you have already authorized through iOS, including:
- Steps
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Sleep
- Weight
- Active energy
- Walking and running distance
- Systolic and diastolic blood pressure
- HRV (heart rate variability)
- Blood oxygen
- Respiratory rate
This data is used only to complete the export you requested, build summaries, or generate a PDF report. It is not uploaded to our servers.
3. How data is stored
Health Data Export follows a local-first design:
- Reading, aggregation, formatting, and file generation happen on your device
- Export history, activity records, and default export preferences are stored locally
- Generated CSV, JSON, Markdown, Excel, and PDF files are kept only in local destinations you choose or in system share flows you initiate
We do not maintain a cloud account for your exports and do not keep remote copies of the files you generate.
4. HealthKit permissions
The app requests HealthKit read access only when you need to export data. You decide whether to grant access, and you can revoke that access later in iOS Settings.
Because of HealthKit’s privacy model, the app does not automatically expose all of your health data and cannot read health metrics without the permissions granted by the system.
5. Export files and sharing
When you export, the app creates the file locally on your device. What happens next depends on your choices.
Please note:
- If you share the file through email, messaging apps, cloud storage, or other third-party services, those providers handle the data under their own privacy terms
- Once a file leaves your device, its storage and access controls are no longer managed by Health Data Export
6. Pro purchase
Health Data Export offers an optional one-time Pro purchase that unlocks longer date ranges, daily aggregation, PDF reports, and advanced health metrics.
Purchases and restore actions are handled by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment details, such as card numbers or Apple account passwords. We only receive the transaction results needed to unlock features.
7. Data security
We rely on iOS system protections for local data security, including:
- App sandboxing
- System file access controls
- Local storage protections
- Access controls tied to your device’s unlock state
The security of exported files also depends on your own device settings, the people or services you share them with, and where you store those files afterward.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Decline HealthKit access
- Revoke health permissions in iOS Settings at any time
- Delete export history or reset preferences in the app
- Delete local export files that were already created
- Remove the app to delete local app data
9. Children’s privacy
This app is not designed specifically for children under 13. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If you believe there has been inappropriate data handling, please contact us using the information below.
10. Policy updates
If this privacy policy changes in a material way, we may describe that change through app updates, website updates, or another appropriate notice. The updated policy becomes effective on the date it is published.
