What is iPocketRemote?

iPocketRemote turns your iPhone or iPad into a remote for a nearby Mac. Paired with iPocketDock on the Mac over the local network (MultipeerConnectivity), it can control media playback, volume, and common system actions without sending traffic through the public internet.

Who it is for

• Presenters who want phone-side media and system control
• People working across rooms on the same Wi‑Fi / local network
• Users who prefer QR or code pairing instead of cloud accounts
• Anyone who already runs iPocketDock as the Mac companion

How to pair and control

1. Install and open iPocketDock on the Mac; show the pairing QR or code.
2. On iOS, open Device Management → Add Device and use QR or Manual Pairing.
3. After the handshake, the device appears online for media and system controls.
4. Keep both devices on a network path MultipeerConnectivity can use; grant Mac permissions (Accessibility, Automation, Local Network) when Dock requests them.

Privacy note

Control traffic is designed to stay local between your phone and Mac. Pairing is meant for devices you trust on your network—not as a remote-over-internet VNC replacement.
