FAQ

What can I try without subscribing?

Get current-location weather once for free and see it shape your island. Failed location requests, network errors and timeouts do not use this opportunity; you can retry. After a successful update, further weather updates, other cities' weather and the simulation controls in Settings require Pro. City search, favorites, units and sound settings remain available.

Do I have to share my location?

No. You can search for, save and select a city without location access; fetching its weather requires Pro. The one-time free weather experience is for your current location and needs your permission to use location while the app is open.

Where does the weather data come from?

Apple Weather provides current conditions and forecasts. Requests need a network connection and either the unused free experience or Pro access. Previously fetched weather may remain visible while its cache is usable, with its data age shown. A cached reading does not mean weather is still updating.

Can I change the weather on the island?

Yes. Pro simulation lets you explore 34 weather conditions, choose a season and day, twilight or night, and adjust wind, rain and snow. Changing simulation settings happens on your device and does not itself request a new forecast. Simulated scenes are separate from the actual weather.

Which plans are available? Is there a free trial?

Personal plans are weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly, with a separate family yearly plan. Eligible personal subscriptions may include a 3-day free trial when the purchase screen shows that offer. This is separate from the one-time free weather update. After the trial, the selected plan renews automatically unless canceled. Check the App Store purchase screen for the price, trial eligibility and renewal period before subscribing.

How many people can use the family plan?

The family yearly plan supports up to 6 people, including the subscriber, through Apple Family Sharing. Its displayed yearly price is the total for the family, not a per-person charge. Everyone keeps their own cities and settings; sharing Pro does not make Weather Islet share members' locations or weather caches.
