Use ClawRSS with OpenClaw: First Sync Guide
A small first-sync workflow that makes subscriptions, saved articles and digests easier to distinguish.
Choose the workflow you need
ClawRSS can read RSS feeds without OpenClaw. Connect OpenClaw when you want to collect feeds or articles there and bring the results into the phone’s reading flow. Ordinary reading, summaries, translation, and bookmarks do not require this connection.
Connect using the app’s current instructions
- Open Settings → OpenClaw in ClawRSS.
- Copy the installation prompt shown by the app and send it to your OpenClaw chat.
- Check that the @ipocket/clawrss integration has been installed. The published package README is the reference for the installed package; use the current prompt instead of copying credentials from an example.
- Confirm that the phone and OpenClaw use the same workspace ID. Use that same workspace on any additional device intended to share the sync data.
- Run one small collection task, then return to ClawRSS and sync.
A first task you can verify
Use one public RSS feed you already know. An example request is: “Add this RSS feed to my ClawRSS workspace: [the publisher’s feed URL].” Replace the bracketed text with a real feed URL. This is an example instruction, not a guarantee of an exact chat response.
After the task completes, sync in ClawRSS. Check the feed title in your subscriptions, open one article, and compare its title and source with the publisher. Then try a summary or translation and bookmark the article if you want to keep it.
Keep three results distinct
| Result | What to look for |
|---|---|
| A subscription | A feed that can supply later articles, not just a single webpage. |
| A collected article | The particular item you asked to bring into the reader. |
| A digest | A grouped or summarized reading result; inspect its source links before relying on it. |
If sync brings back nothing
Check the installed integration, the workspace ID, and whether OpenClaw completed the requested collection. For a subscription, verify that the URL is an RSS, Atom, or JSON Feed endpoint rather than an ordinary homepage. The free version’s five-feed limit may matter when adding another subscription; Premium removes that limit and adds custom Today sorting.
Start with one feed and one sync before collecting a large set. Never put private workspace credentials into a public feed URL, screenshot, or shared example.
